It looks like Claude has a feature called “Skills” that allow different skills to be explicitly defined and injected into Claude. This is a very useful feature, and I am wondering if support for this could be added to Cursor, allowing us, when using Claude models, to define and use skills.
It seems that persona-based prompting (i.e. “You are a doing …” was never a big thing with Claude models, and I’ve been reading various reports from various source (i.e. Reddit, blogs, etc.) that persona prompting is becoming less and less effective (notably from some Reddit posts, the differences with and without a persona prompt were marginal at best). In some cases, imposing a persona produce worse results than not.
I mostly use the Claude models, then probably the Grok models, then maybe the GPT-5 models. So I don’t use GPT models all that much, which is where I think persona prompting works best. Claude’s Skills seem like a useful feature in general, and maybe there is a way to introduce something like this, to Cursor, in a more general sense to support models across the board?
