1、When the tab completion suggestion window appears, it seems that the suggestion window is out of the IDE. The only way to view the suggestion code is to hover on the suggestion window and press “view“ in the bottom of the suggestion window. Yes, you can do this, but this would interrupt the coding flow and feels not smooth.
2、The suggestion codes will appear in different ways. The most comfortable and smooth way is to display the suggestion codes inside the line after your current cursor point.
The other one is to display many codes in a separate window illustrated in the image above. But most of the time, when we diff the suggestion codes, we found that it can be changed to the inline suggestion display, the different codes also occurs after the current cursor.
Suggestion:
1、Can we optimize the so called “smart rewrite“ to inline completion display?
2、If there must be a “smart rewrite“ window, can we constraint the window width, make it auto line wrap, or adjust the display position, so that we can see all the codes inside, no need to hover and click ‘view‘?
and I carefully review the “smart rewrite“ codes, I may be wrong to mention that the smart rewrite can be optimized to inline display. Because the “smart rewrite“ occurs, usually the coder may type something wrong, and the suggested codes cannot be directly arranged after the cursor. For example, when we type “boxshadow“ in the css style, the correct attribute name should be “box-shadow“. In this situation, cursor has to “rewrite“ instead of display the following codes after the “boxshadow“. So this is a correct smart write.
But the smart write window problem should be fixed indeed.
