If I upgrade to a team account. Can our staff’s bots communicate with each other? Can some be personal and some be shared? For example, I want to my marketing exec to have his own account, and my COO to have her own account. I want our bots to be able to communicate with each other, but I dont want my personal finance bots shared with them?
Hey @Andrew_Undem, thanks for the question!
Yes, this works with Team Bots. Once everyone is on the same team, each person signs in with their own account and has their own bots. Every bot is private by default, so your personal finance bots stay yours unless you choose to share them.
When you want a bot to be shared, open it and use Share to publish it as a Team Bot. You can give access to everyone on the team or only to specific people, and choose whether they can just chat with it or also manage it. Teammates add shared bots to their own sidebar and get their own private chat with them.
Bots can also hand work to each other. A bot can pass a task to your other bots, and to teammates’ Team Bots you’ve added. Bots you haven’t shared can’t be seen or chatted with by your teammates, and their bots can’t send work to them. One note: handing work between bots works best from the Grok Bot app. In Slack, a teammate’s request can only be passed to bots that teammate owns.
So for your setup: your marketing exec and COO each get their own account, the bots you want everyone to use get shared as Team Bots, and your finance bots stay private.
