Terminal Not Opening/Displaying in Cursor IDE

:white_check_mark: Forum Check: I’ve checked the forum and couldn’t find this specific issue reported for M3 Macs.

:lady_beetle: Bug Description:

The terminal tab in Cursor IDE is completely empty. When selecting the Terminal tab in the bottom panel, no terminal prompt appears and the terminal remains blank/unresponsive. This makes it impossible to use any terminal functionality within the IDE.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Cursor IDE

  2. Click on the Terminal tab in the bottom panel

  3. Terminal panel appears but remains empty with no prompt or content

:laptop: System Information:

  • Device: MacBook Air (15-inch, M3, 2024)

  • Chip: Apple M3

  • Memory: 16 GB

  • Operating System: macOS 15.1.1 (24B91)

  • Cursor Version: Latest update (installed recently)

  • Additional Environment: Using Anaconda for Python environment management

:prohibited: Impact:

This issue completely prevents me from using the terminal functionality within Cursor, which is a critical feature for my development workflow. I’m unable to run commands, use CLI tools, or manage my project through the integrated terminal, forcing me to use external terminal applications.

Additional Context:

I’ve only used Cursor once or twice before encountering this issue. The terminal worked initially but now remains blank. I’m using Anaconda for Python environment management, which might be related to the issue.
