The version 2.4.21 works fine

2.4.22 works good for me, Cursor team will likely need some diagnostic info:

  • does developer console log any errors?
  • does it happen in all projects? what if you open a “new window” with no project?
  • does it happen if you open a project with all chats closed, extensions disabled and mcp servers disabled?

Also on the Mac, though curiously when it crashes there’s no detection by MacOS. VSCode seems to work fine until you open the AI pane, then it pinwheels to the death after about 2 minutes of being unusable.

I looked through the extension logs, but didn’t see anything obvious. If someone can tell me the specific log to look at, I can respond with content.

I downgraded to 2.3 and opened AI pane to get message that the last chat was corrupted. I opened a new one and 2.3 is working fine.

Hey there.

If you are able to reproduce it, peek into %APPDATA%\Cursor\logs\ (on Windows) or ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/logs/ (on Mac) to see if any error messages jump out, or simply zip up the logs and share them here!

I have a feeling, @Watunder and @RichardG, that these will be two seperate issues and we’ll probably split this into two threads.

I don’t see a Cursor folder below my Application Support folder. @Colin

@RichardG Where do you end up if, from the command palette (cmd + shift + p), you run Developer > Open Logs Folder?

Sorry, I was looking at the root /Libary/… and not my home ~/Library/…

Anyway, I restored v2.4 and restarted. It seems isolated to just one chat:

As long as I don’t open that one, it works fine still. Is there a specific log you’d like to see from the latest timestamp folder?

@RichardG

Sorry this one fell off my notifications!

Are you still having an issue? Could you share a new request ID (like in your last screenshot) if so?

Log-wise, not terribly sure what we’re looking for yet, so a zipped up copy of the latest timestamped log directory would be ideal. I can also open a private message for you to share them.

No worries, @Colin It seems to have been isolated to one corrupted conversation that I haven’t opened since and have had no more issues. Feel free to close this out.
