Hello! The following is a description of the issue: The cursor web version is functioning normally, but the desktop version keeps displaying “reconnecting”. I went to settings to check the network and used network diagnostics, which revealed that DNS is not responding. Switching to the HTTP version didn’t help either. Of course, I have already enabled the Clash Verge system proxy. I have tried many methods, including uninstalling and reinstalling cursor and VPN software, but the issue remains unresolved. I urgently need help to resolve this problem.
Steps to Reproduce
After renewing my subscription and upgrading to the latest version of Cursory, I encountered this issue. Subsequently, I uninstalled Cursory and reverted to the previous version, but it still didn’t work

Hey @zhubinghao
Since the web version works and rolling back the version didn’t help, this isn’t your account or the Cursor version - it’s Clash Verge dropping the desktop app’s agent connection, so it sits on “Reconnecting.” (Ignore the “DNS no response” in the Agents Window diagnostics - that panel misreports there even when the connection is fine.)
Try this:
Fully quit Cursor (Task Manager → end every Cursor.exe), then launch once with the proxy bypassed: "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\cursor\Cursor.exe" --no-proxy-server. Send a quick message - if the agent replies, the proxy is the cause.
If so, make it stick: in Clash Verge, route Cursor’s domains direct - add cursor.sh, cursorapi.com, and cursor-cdn.com as DOMAIN-SUFFIX,...,DIRECT under prepend-rules, then restart Cursor. Full recipe: Can not use cursor because of clash verge.
If step 1 doesn’t help, click Open IDE, run Cursor Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics in that window, and share the result plus a Request ID from a failed message (three-dots menu → Copy Request ID).
