I have been coding with Cursor for more than 10 months now. When I first started, we had a clear limit of 500 fast requests after which you could still access good models. In the Cursor dashboard, we can see how many requests we have used so far and how much we have left. I took a break for a couple of months and came back. The 500 requests limit and the dashboard that shows how much you consumed as a % of your plan have been replaced with a vague “Lines of Agent Edits”. Other than that, the limits have been obviously reduced as I’m hitting the limit way earlier than before, although I’m not using Cursor as much as before. This has been a major downgrade, honestly, it’s no longer making sense to subscribe to the Pro plan. I’m really considering being on the free plan and uploading an API key from a frontier model and paying them for the requests that I use.
Since I started using Cursor, I always felt that they had the developer’s benefit as their core focus, but I’m beginning to see that mentality shift away from it.
