The Quality of Cursor dropped by a lot

I have no idea what happened.

I stopped using Cursor some time ago, and today I wanted to get back to using it.

It used to be brilliant, 1 month ago.

But now the quality is absolutely terrible, and using it is just frustrating and feels like I’m playing slots.

I have my own .cursorrules set up, and I give good prompts (I know they are good because in the past they worked great)

It used to work phenomenal with Claude 3.5 Sonnet and now 3.7 is absolute dog water, and 3.5 is even worse.

The indexing is all over the place and it hallucinates badly.

It thinks that I have some /src/template folder, in fact it doesn’t exist. (the correct path is in root /templates)

It is deleting code when I explicitly tell it to not do it, and it even mixes up programming languages.

It tried to format a string in JavaScript using the Python syntax.

I also noticed the Composer and @codebase are gone, and they have been replaced by the agent thing, which is not that great

Am I missing something?

Should I add some rules or make some settings to make it work how it used to?

I tested it on 2 different projects, one with FastAPI and another one with ElectronJS and the experience has been the exact same

Just found this and it works well again: I created an AMAZING MODE called "RIPER-5 Mode" Fixes Claude 3.7 Drastically!
