Still firing away with my trusty old 0.45.17 from the trenches.
I have been using Cursor for ~8 months and have always updated to the latest version as soon as it was available. I’ve never had any issues with stability the entire time yes, there have been glitches here and there, but nothing that a Cursor restart or new chat didn’t fix.
With that said I also don’t use any MCP stuff, nor work on a VPN. I also periodically go through and delete all my old chats.
Same for me … Sometimes there is issues but they are resolved pretty quick thanks to cursor’s team
I was a 0.45 holdout on one computer and upgraded to the latest version on another computer. I finally gave up on 0.45 when we got to 0.48, and 0.45 is in the rearview mirror now with 0.49.
One thing that helped me (I think) was going through and reviewing the custom user rules I had set in Cursor preferences. I think there was a change in how the rules were handled or interpreted, and I had an old list of very specific rules, some of which I think might have had some unintended consequences for some of the models. 0.49 gives you a lot more clarity and control over where and when rules are implemented.
