The voice function of the cursor has interaction defects

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Hi.

An obvious software interaction issue: Cursor 2.0 has added a voice function. I can see the microphone icon in the dialogue input box for interacting with Cursor. When there is no content in the input box, the microphone icon is visible; however, once there is content in the input box, the microphone icon disappears. If I want to use the voice function again, I can no longer find that microphone button. The official ChatGPT website also supports voice input, and ChatGPT allows for incremental input via voice—instead of requiring users to speak all their content at once.

----Best wishes from China

Steps to Reproduce

voice will appear in the input box. However, when you want to use voice input again, you will find that the voice button is no longer there.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. This is actually the current design behavior for voice input in Cursor.

The microphone button is replaced by the Send button after transcription completes, which prevents continuous voice input. This is a known limitation that several users have reported.

There’s an existing feature request for this exact functionality here: Allow multiple voice recordings or re-recording in Voice Mode

I’d recommend adding your feedback and use case to that thread to help the team understand the demand for ChatGPT-style continuous voice input. The team is aware of this limitation and may consider it for future improvements.
