There was a problem and my question could not be answered

[composer] submitChatMaybeAbortCurrent errored! Canceled,
Here are the steps to reproduce my problem:
1.Open cursor,
2.The first 20 seconds after opening, it can run normally and the Tab prompt code
3.Then this error message will appear

4.After that, the software cannot be responded to or used normally, and the following error occurs when opening the developer tool:

Of course, I subscribed to the service。
So does anyone know what the problem is, it has stopped me from using the software.
The computer environment is all up to date, because I just reinstalled the system. Thank you very much for the solution.

Hey, it’s likely that an extension is causing this error. Try starting in safe mode with: cursor --disable-extensions, and check if everything works fine. If it does, try enabling the extensions one by one.

I have not installed any extensions, the cursor is brand new, downloaded for the first time :sob:

Somebody help me :sob:

Did you have VSCodef installed prior?

Even if you uninstalled VSCode, some time ago, there ~could? be a chance Cursor (vscode in AI Clothing) ~might? have slurped extensions from VSCode when you were browsing Reddit?

I asked it what this image menat:

This indicates a VS Code extension host crash issue. Let me break down what’s happening:

  • Initial Error:

  • [composer] submitChatMaybeAbortCurrent errored! Canceled

  • Extension host terminated unexpectedly 3 times within 5 minutes

  1. Sequence of Events:
  • Opens normally for first 20 seconds

  • Tab prompt code works initially

  • Then crashes with extension host termination error

  • Bisect Mode Activated:

  • VS Code entered extension bisect mode (a troubleshooting feature)

  • “Extension Bisect is active and has disabled 0 extensions”

  • Gives options to:

  • “I can’t reproduce”

  • “I can reproduce”

  • “Stop Bisect”

  1. Developer Tools Error:
  • Shows error in the developer console

  • Appears to be related to the composer/chat functionality

To fix this, you can try:

  • Immediate Actions:

  • Click “Restart Extension Host”

  • If that doesn’t work, try “Start Extension Bisect”

  • If Problem Persists:

  • Disable extensions one by one to identify the problematic one

  • Clear VS Code’s cache

  • Reinstall VS Code

  • Check for conflicting extensions

Thank you for your reply. This is the first time I downloaded cursor after reinstalling the system, which means I did not download vscode and related plug-ins. My current guess is that it is caused by the security assistant software used in the company’s intranet. In addition, I also tried to download w_ind_surf. As expected, there was no response when I tried to log in to the w_ind_surf software.

By the way, after I reinstalled the system, I immediately downloaded cursor, and I was able to use it normally. Later, after I downloaded the security assistant software for the company’s intranet, the problem I mentioned appeared.

Doesn’t that mean I can’t use my account and can’t get a refund, so I have to give it to someone else?

Hey, I think the problem might be with the security software you installed. Try adding Cursor to the exceptions, if there’s such an option.

I asked my colleague to try it, but he couldn’t do it. That means it was caused by the company’s software, and it should be a security policy.

Hi, I encounter the same issue. Were you able to find any solution? Our company deploys 360.

At present, I have given up using it. You can contact the company’s operation and maintenance to set the software to whitelist. I think it’s caused by some of the company’s security software. :sob:

I totally understand how frustrating this is. Looks like your company’s security software is blocking Cursor from working properly. Unfortunately we can’t work around security software, but you can email hi@cursor.com for a refund if you find you’re unable to use it

Thank you, but what makes me sad is that it has expired. I bought it for 1 month but it can’t be used, so I left it alone

The strange thing is that when this software was just released, I used it in the company, and it can run normally, not restricted by security software, but the latest version will be security software

Even if your subscription has expired, you can still email hi@cursor.com about getting a refund since you weren’t able to use it.

We are working on improving our compatibility with security software and corporate networks, so please try again in the future!

Thank you. I’ll try to apply for a refund. If you resolve the security software limitations, be sure to let me know, I will continue to use!
