Token Usage (old thread)

I legit started a new project, without any context, no files, no previous chats, nothing. And I got charged $.03 for saying test (around 12k tokens. You can keep dodging the idea of something being wrong, but I paid for the $200 plan and now I am stuck between two walls. 1. I cannot work because the prices of token consumption is too high and will leave me with 1/10th the amount I was promised, 2. I can’t not work because my plan is running out and I’ll waste the plan because of some bug. I’m getting frustrated more and more because it seems like cursor is dodging responsibility and basically telling people, ā€œHey, you know that model ā€˜auto’, which you guys paid to not use? If you don’t like how we changed the token consumption abruptly without notice, then use that.ā€ I just don’t like how you’re so sneaky and vague about issues, in which if you fixed you would gain trust. And I still have not received a response from a ā€œspecialistā€ on email and it’s been 4 days.
If I am wrong, please tell me and I’ll understand what the issue is, I want to resolve this issue quick so I can build my project.

I’m sorry, but it doesn’t address the fact that we’re not getting what we paid for, that we’re being charged far more than we actually use, that we can’t even use any of the services properly right now, and that auto mode is a complete fiasco.

Because of Cursor, we can’t do our jobs right now, we can’t complete our projects, and we’re suffering losses. I’ve been a developer for 26+ years, and while I love Cursor, I see a scenario where it’s all about security and unfair monetization. Many others will agree.

Denying these issues or making excuses in a forum where everyone is saying the same thing is an attempt and could be the worst-case scenario for the brand’s progress. Instead of acknowledging mistakes and finding solutions, we’re met with unnecessary explanations.

And yes, @condor, you’re the only one; I don’t think anyone else works or reviews for this company.

(I think this might be the longest forum post I’ve ever written in such a frustrated and angry way. You’ve made me go through this, Cursor! Thank you!!!)

I can’t agree more. It’s getting out of control. Either they are too dumb to see the true problem, or is dodging and praying that people won’t care in a few days. I can’t use my $200 membership, and worst of all, I can’t work on my project at all in fear of not getting a rake back on overcharged tokens. I legit paid for this membership 4 days ago, and I have used it maybe 5-6 times. If I don’t get a refund, I’ll contact my bank and do it that way if I have to.
