I’m getting this bug as well and it’s incredibly annoying. It’s been happening for a while now (possibly since v2)
Same here on Version: 2.3.34
Everytime I switch between Editor and Agent views, my Editor resizes, and my Primary Side Bar, which I’d like to turn off by default (is that possible?), pops up again.
I no longer seem to have an Agent | Editor selection option in Cursor settings. Did they remove that? I haven’t updated to the latest yet…I’m still an Editor mode user, and I need to make sure I don’t get sucked into an app mode that does not allow me to do the things I need to do, with no way to switch back…
In case it helps – I’m on Version: 2.3.34
What I have is a tab for Agents in Cursor Settings – the Editor Settings are placed in General and point to VS Code Settings
Further to telling cursor to sync your layout across windows (which I believe is set to true by default), be sure to select your preferred layout from the coloured icons (green arrow), or create your own custom layout (and select it).
I made the mistake of thinking that if I toggled the little panes (red arrow), Cursor would remember my preference. Hitting the gear, I kept glazing over the colourful icons (green arrow). Seems as though Cursor set the “Agent” layout as default (yellow circle), and this is what was the root of my frustration.
Fix Request: If a user toggles the little panes, can you remember the user’s last selection for the next time they open a window?
