Unable to Install WSL Extension ('Unexpected Identifier' Error)

I am encountering an issue when trying to install the WSL extension. The installation process fails with the following error message:

Unexpected identifier 's': SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier 's'

This error appears in the logs when attempting to install the extension. I believe this error occurs because my installation directory for Cursor AI is in “C:\Users\[name]'s PC”.

How to Reproduce the Bug:

  1. Open Cursor AI on Windows.
  2. Attempt to install the WSL extension.
  3. Observe the error in the logs or terminal output.

I also attempted to use a symlink when reinstalling Cursor in a different location: “C:\Users\[name]sPC”, but the issue still persists.

Additional Information:

  • This error message also occurs on load as well and appears in the logs.

Operating System: Windows 10
Cursor Version: 0.46.11

May I ask where you see the WSL extension on Cursor? I couldn’t even find WSL extension anymore. And seems the main site WSL - Visual Studio Marketplace has also changed their policy so you can no longer download manaully.
