I have enabled my VPN software in “Global Mode” on my system. Additionally, I have configured the Http: Proxy, Http: Proxy Support, and Http: Proxy Strict SSL options within the Cursor application settings.

However, when I attempt to use certain built-in models such as Sonnet, GPT, or Gemini, I receive the following error message:

“This model provider doesn’t serve your region. Visit Regions | Cursor Docs for more information.”

Consequently, these models cannot be used. Currently, I can only use the Composer 1 model.

In contrast, I can successfully use models like GPT-5.2 via the web browser at https://cursor.com/cn/agents.

Could you please advise on how to adjust my settings so that I can use the other built-in models within the Cursor desktop application?

Could you please help me change my account region to the United States? I am accessing the service using a U.S. IP address (Tukwila) via my VPN.

I look forward to your prompt solution to this matter.

Hey, this is a known issue when using a VPN.

Try this fix that has helped many users:

  1. Make sure your VPN is set to Global Mode
  2. Disable HTTP/2 in Cursor: press CMD/CTRL + , → search for “HTTP/2” → enable “Disable HTTP/2”
  3. Restart Cursor

Also try switching your VPN to TUN mode, if available.

Run network diagnostics: Cursor Settings > Network > Run Diagnostics

Let me know if this helped!

Thanks so much. Great! It works.
