Look at the debug.log file in the installation directory of Cursor to find out what happened. Then there is an additional folder named “_”. Copy the four files v8_context_snapshot.bin, vk_swiftshader.dll, vk_swiftshader_icd.json, and vulkan-1.dll to the installation directory of Cursor, and the problem is solved. My problem occurred after updating to 0.46.5. I just copied the file. I saw that the Cursor version had been updated to 0.46.5. ——Enthusiastic netizens from China
I’ve seen that someone else has already reported this issue, and it’s frustrating. Cursor’s team should test before releasing or releasing a rolling update package to install the required version.
The Cursor team should already know about this, and they should stop pushing the version immediately. In order not to lose more user information, but it seems that it is not possible to close the Cursor client for the time being to keep the old version running.
im not sure what was in the new update but the last version was fine and I really enjoyed the new model they added. If thats what you’re telling me, then I don’t get why they want it to push it when nothing was broken imo
Hey, try navigating to the \AppData\Local\Temp folder. There should be an installer for the new version there. Try installing it from there, but first, uninstall the old version.
I can only find CodeSetup-stable-0.45.16.exe, please stop pushing the new version as soon as possible, otherwise it will lead to users losing trust in your information.
C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Temp\vscode-stable-user-x64-l1syfssxz3b has CodeSetup-stable-0.46.5.exe in it on my computer. If I kill cursor in the Task Manager I can run this exe and it installs 0.46.5 and it runs & says there are no new updates.
This broke for me too, exactly the same problem with the original poster on the latest Windows version.
Here’s how I fixed it for now:
So i disabled my antivirus (im using ESET)
Uninstalled Cursor from the control panel.
Then i reinstalled it using the installer cursor automatically downloaded on: "AppData\Local\Temp\vscode-stable-user-x64-...{some_id_here}\CodeSetup-stable-0.46.5.exe"
I didn’t even need to delete the previous version or disable the antivirus.
I just closed Cursor, and this time everything installed without any issues.
