Usage Events for “claude-3.7-sonnet” and “claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking” are marked “Usage-based” instead of “Included in Plan”

Context

  • Workspace is on the Business plan with Usage-based pricing & Usage-based pricing for premium models enabled.

  • My own usage-based fees for this month total about $28.

  • My premium requests usage for this month is 402 times.

Issue

I found that in Settings → Usage → Recent Usage Events, my colleague’s requests to claude-3.7-sonnet and claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking are recorded as “Kind: Included in Business”.

But when I tested my own requests to the following models (those not listed are the ones I haven’t tested):

  • gpt-4.1

  • gemini-2.5-pro-exp-03-25

  • claude-3.7-sonnet

  • claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking

All of them are shown as “Kind: Usage-based”. Moreover, I found that although these are recorded as “Usage-based,” they also consume my premium requests.

I have used ≈ 402 premium requests this month, which is below the 500-request Business quota.

Expected Behaviour

Requests made before the monthly 500 fast-premium quota is exhausted—should be labelled Included in Business, matching the experience of other team members.

Actual Behaviour

  • Every request (normal or thinking) is recorded as Usage-based.

Request

  1. Confirm whether enabling usage-based pricing forces all premium-model requests to display as “Usage-based”, even when under quota, or
  2. Investigate why my quota tracking differs from other members on the same plan.
  3. If this is expected, please clarify the intended UI so we can accurately monitor team usage.

Okay, after contacting Cursor Support, I now know that this issue was caused by unsynchronized usage statistics in Cursor (Support can see in the Cursor dashboard that my actual usage has already exceeded 500 times).
