Does anyone know what the usage limits are for the teams premium plan? I’ve been using individual ultra for months now, and I want to make sure that moving to a teams premium plan won’t be a downgrade with included usage. Just getting details on what usage is included with each plan would be nice.
Hi @Jon_Wadsworth, thanks for the post! Short answer: on included usage alone, a Teams Premium seat isn’t a like-for-like replacement for individual Ultra. Ultra includes more. Every paid plan includes two pools that reset each cycle: Cursor Models (Composer 2.5 and Cursor Grok 4.5) and Other Models (third-party, at that model’s API price). Our pricing page lists Ultra at $400 of included Other Models usage, which is 20x Pro’s $20, plus generous Cursor Models usage on top.
On Teams, seats are Standard ($40/user/mo) or Premium ($120/user/mo), and Premium includes 5x the total included usage of a Standard seat. Those multipliers come off different baselines, so 20x and 5x aren’t comparable, and there’s no Ultra-equivalent seat on self-serve Teams today.
One other thing worth knowing: you can only be on one plan at a time, so joining a team automatically cancels an individual subscription on the same email. Teams plans offer additional team functionality: centralized billing, shared rules and plugins, Bugbot, usage analytics, and SSO. @kevinn Thanks for the quick reply. I understand what you’re saying, and the pricing model makes sense. What I’m trying to do is estimate the additional cost we’ll incur by switching to teams. We like the features of the teams account, but if it makes our cost 4x (or close to that), then the added features wouldn’t justify the switch. Most of our team uses all of the included usage for both first and third-party models on the Ultra plan and have overage enabled so we don’t hit a productivity wall. While we’d be willing to pay more per user to have access to teams features, we’d like to be able to estimate just how much more we’d end up spending.
Hi @Jon_Wadsworth totally fair concern and I understand. A couple more things to mention to help you in your decision-making. Teams allocates included usage per seat. It doesn’t pool across members or roll over, so each person costs the seat price plus anything beyond that seat’s allowance, billed on-demand at list API rates. Teams also add a Cursor Token Rate of $0.25 per million tokens on third-party models that individual plans don’t have (This Cursor Token Rate does not apply to any Cursor Models).
Really what would drive you to switch to a teams plan is if you have a team that is growing and you have needs for the team features. That is really what I would focus on. If you’re in a good spot and satisfied with the accounts now, then there may not be a need to switch. But if you need the team-based features then I would proceed in that direction.
