Usage of client owned licenses for service provision

Hi,
We are a commercial entity providing outsourcing development services.

One of our client requested us to use their Cursor licenses.

OLD Terms of Service stated that the licenses are non-transferable. Quote below:

Subject to this Agreement, you are hereby granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and freely revocable license to install and use the executable form of the Software made available by Cursor solely for your personal use only, and strictly as permitted by the features of the Software. Cursor may terminate this license at any time for any reason or no reason. Cursor reserves all rights not expressly granted herein in the Software.

NEW Terms of Service (Updated June 13 2025) do not have this mentioned in them.

Are we allowed to use Client owned licenses?

Thanks

hi @peshta thank you for the question, I will share it internally to clarify.

@peshta you are allowed to use your clients subscription provided that they give you the permission and that they do not use that subscription themselves.
