User Rules save but won't load (version 1.0)

I see that now you can have multiple “User Rules” (the global ones that appear over all windows. I used to have a rule, then I tried to split it up into multiple rules. The new rules don’t re-appear in the settings when I reopen it. Also when I try to save edits to rules, they don’t save. The UI suggests that it only saves the first attempt for each rule, but apparently this isn’t working.

Deleting a rule works, I deleted the rule I had at the start and now I can’t recreate it.

I’ve tried quitting and restarting cursor.

This is pretty annoying, I now can’t set global rules

+1 - User Rules broke for me after upgrading to v0.51.2, and with v1.0, they still don’t work properly.

Are they no longer stored locally, but (secretly, unexpectedly!) server-side now, as part of the online profile? The “try again later” error message definitely makes it look like that, and network/server issues could explain the weird and broken behavior.

Hey, the team are looking into this!

This is fixed, at least it’s working for me, just for anyone already in here, or anyone who sees this in future. Didn’t need an update to Cursor, so problem was probably server-side.
