Using Cursor and vscode at the same time?

Hi,
I am using Cursor in Windows, thanks for making such a great tool.

It’s a simple question: is cursor sharing any configure file with vscode?

I mean, as I decided to use Cursor as my main editor for those heavy development, I want to make original vscode lighter for quick text editing, by deleting extensions and changing configs.

Will I break Cursor?

Good question, I’m sure the Cursor folks will be able to let you know that.

FYI - I was using Sublime Text before I found Cursor and now Cursor is my main editor but I still use Sublime Text for the lighter work. So perhaps have a look at that if you want something ‘lighter’, there are lots of nice themes available for it too. I could be biased though because I have used it for a long time :+1:t5:.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think it should be more of a learning cost thing, switching editors is still a tough decision for most people. Apparently Cursor does a good job in this

Not all all.

You can have VS Code configured as you like, and Cursor configured as you like - they do not share the same installation folder.

When I was beta testing Github Copilot for VS Code, I had to install a different version called VS Code Insiders. I ran that alongside regular VS Code, and then later alongside Cursor. They all have their own install folders, their own settings, and their own extensions.

I hope that helps!
