Using Images in Cursor

Ive read somewhere that we can drag and drop images into cursor chatbot

Have tried but it doesnt allow anything to be dragged in or to use “@” for that purpose

my faint memory shows it was available before or did i dream it up?

Hi @Eddy. This should work normally. I have just tried it.

Does the button work?

In my side chat bar, nor in Composer, I do not see the image feature.

HOWEVER, I can paste an image directly into the Composer UI and it works great.
BUT, I can not paste in the side chat bar.

Hi @jjaimealeman

Is there no image icon for you? Or can’t you see the inserted image? It’s there, though. If you ask the AI, it’ll say it can see the image.

Not visible

i remember it being visible many months back

Did some fiddling around yesterday and the only thing that seems to work is right click the image on the desktop, click COPY, then CTRL+V in the Chat box and Composer

wasnt there a way to get images with @ before too?

Should be visible if you pull the pane to expand it!

sadly no matter the pulling it doesnt appear, its definitely odd

for now the only Working option i found is going into the image folder, clicking it then CTRL+C copying it and CTRL+V in the Chat box

I realised depending on your chat window size, the image icon won’t show at the bottom, if you expand or make the window size wider, it shows up, if you make it smaller, it gets hidden.

I have the same problem, and the image icon does not appear when enlarging the chat window, but I realised that the LLM model name (Claude Sonnet-3-5-2024blahblah) is covering the image icon. When I change to a shorter model name like gtp4, it shows. Weird.

Now since I am a new user, I am not allowed to add two in\mages in one post… Well, I will make another reply witht he next image.

As long as you have an image in your “clipboard”, you can just paste it into either Chat or Composer.

Hell, it even works with the Inline Chat as well!

Didn’t know that! GREAT JOB CURSOR TEAM!!!
