Hi team,
I want to report a UI/UX edge case in the dashboard that currently traps users in a silent state change.
The Bug / Missing Feature: Currently, if a user is on a promotional yearly plan and decides to temporarily upgrade to a higher tier (e.g., to try Pro+), the billing system allows the upgrade without any explicit warning that doing so will instantly and permanently void the remainder of their promotional plan.
Steps to Reproduce:
-
Have an active yearly promotional plan.
-
Click to upgrade to Pro+.
-
Observe the checkout flow — there is no alert or confirmation dialog warning the user about the destructive nature of this state change.
-
The user completes the upgrade, completely unaware that their 12-month promo state has just been permanently deleted from the database.
As a fellow developer, I understand how automated billing state machines handle subscription replacements. However, allowing a destructive action like this without a frontend confirmation modal is a severe UX flaw that penalizes users for trying higher tiers.
Suggested Fix: Please add a simple UI intercept before the checkout completes: “Warning: Upgrading your plan will immediately cancel your current promotional period, and it cannot be restored. Do you wish to proceed?”
(Note for mods: I have already emailed [email protected] regarding my account and have an open ticket for reference: T-H1451. I am posting this here strictly as a bug report and feedback for the product/UI team so other users don’t fall into the same trap. Please leave this open for the dev team.)
