Veteran developer

I am a veteran programmer with years of experience writing code in C and C++ but I haven’t coded for some 15 years or more and never using this kind of environment. I’d really like to start coding applications using uptodate tools. This environment was recommended as the best there is.
Could someone please point me to a good starting point - and I mean a really basic starting point - similar to what used to be referred to as Hello World. I learn fast and I am confident that I will be able to learn on my own given the right start.
Thanks

@omnivorist having faced similar issue, for me the fastest way to get started was to watch some Youtube videos to collect and plan my own IDE experience using Cursor. Now I code much faster.

Cursor has some interesting features that I didn’t explore fully yet but having viewed others doing it gave me clarity of next steps.
