Was the 7-day free trial removed?

Hello,

I would like to know if the 7-day free trial has been removed.
I cannot find the option to test the service for free before
subscribing.

Has this been discontinued, or is it still possible to do a trial?

Thank you for any information!

I support the question. I wanted to try cursor, but couldn’t find a trial version anywhere

Hi all!

You’re right that we’ve removed the 7-day Pro trial as we evolve our product and pricing.

Cursor still has a free tier that lets you experience the product before committing to a subscription.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thanks for the update. I understand that products and pricing evolve, but I wanted to share some feedback.

For many students and junior developers with limited budgets, the 7-day Pro trial was really helpful to properly test the product before subscribing. Its removal is quite frustrating for those of us who can’t afford a paid plan yet.

Could you let us know:

If there are any plans to bring back the 7-day Pro trial?

Which models or features are currently available on the free tier?

And a bit more context on why the trial was removed?

Honestly, Cursor’s trial mode is terrible and horrible. There’s no way I’d pay 20 dollars for something this bad. You can’t even use Claude models or anything. I’m disappointed with the current trial mode of Cursor - it’s really bad. I hope they release a free trial of the Pro version so we can actually test it properly before paying for the Pro version.

hi @Gerson_Herrera on Free account you can use Auto mode and Tab autocomplete within limits as it is not a replacement for a full Pro account.

When you say free tier, are you just referring to the plain IDE with no features? which is essentially just VSCode?

Free tier is the Hobby Plan
