I’d like to know if we can expect the sharing of custom mode settings to land anytime soon and how is it going to work ?
The docs page, it mentions this:
We’re considering adding a
.cursor/modes.jsonfile to your project to make it easier to create and share custom modes.
Is this going to land in a near update ?
I’m currently using a custom mode to onboard developers to the codebase, taking them through all the dev environment installs needed and outlining key areas etc.
Shame that it cannot be shared right now.
seems so simple to add a .json file
It’s surprising that vscode has OTB made chatmodes, toolsets, etc in .json format. Easy to check-in the repo and share it with team, and cursor hasn’t done it yet.
Seems like a no brainer. Should be in a file similar to ai rule files. Ideally markdown or mdc
