holy shi, no answers of cursors team? come on guys, this is serious! Where da fuc my history go??? This is crazy. It also update without my consent. Now I need to login like it was my first time in cursor every-time i open de app.
Same here, I updated to 1.7.38 (user setup) and worked for a couple of hours. Then, after closing and reopening it some minutes later, it prompted me to login, choose theme etc. like a fresh install, and it seems it doesnât load chats history in every folder I try to openâŚ
All those unethical tricks, like repeated syntax errors, no edits all talk about edit, leave a complex toxic tail, and noticing the problem is easy then apply these tricks to drag on the process, all these kind of behavior is very hostile towards users with project going on
Another thing is shadow editing, the red yellow green thing does not appear but did edit without letting the user to verify

for those of us who DO have a back up of our state.vscdb how do we restore our chat history!!!
Any luck? I have been largely unsuccessful being able to restore even after reverting back to 1.6.45 binary and from the 1.6.45 state.vscdb I was using at that time.
Thanks to TimeMachine i could recover the ~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/and ~/.cursor folders. I can confirm that after restoring these 2 + reinstalling version 1.7.28 i can again access my chat history. Although this requires you having a backup of the SQLlite DBs files
This doesnât seem to have worked for me. I can retrieve my chat history upon opening the app for the first time, but then it is all purged after closing.
Could this be happening as a result of Enterprise privacy mode being enabled?
