Where is chat history stored? Can I set it?

I’m guessing that it is stored with other cursor data and that it can’t be configured. So eventually it is lost.

I think the chat history is valuable within the context of the workspace/project, particularly as vector search makes it easy to surface stuff from a bunch of text.

So it would be great if my chat history was just text or markdown files in a folder of my workspace or documentation folder.

came here to say the same. I’d love to persist the history on a per file basis. Perhaps with some way to capture the key requirements on an ongoing basis. Essentially trying to answer the question of “why” the code looks like it does right now.
