Why doesnt Cursor follow normal practices for updates

Every time a new release of cursor comes up the previous version is automatically deleted from the system.
So we are forced to d/l the new update and install it. This is very shady behavior. Why cant a regular popup for new update be displayed and let users choose if they want to update or not??
This is not a one time issue. I have been observing it every time a new update is pushed and when i close my existing cursor at the end of the day a small popup comes up for a sec and then disappears. Next day the cursor link no longer works!
I am sure there are others in the same boat.

btw my system is windows server 2019

Edit: I see there is another thread on the same topic. Admin can move or delete this thread if required. BUT PLEASE FIX THE ISSUE

Hey, we auto-update by default to ensure bug fixes and merged in. We admittedly have not ensured the stability of updates as much as we should have in older updates, but we are focusing more on making our updates more “trusted”, so you can not worry about updates breaking too much!
