I am writing this to provide sincere feedback regarding the current pricing policy.
I was a highly satisfied Cursor user during the first half of 2025. Back then, the usage-based model (based on request frequency) allowed me to develop without significant constraints, and I truly enjoyed the experience.
However, since the shift to the strictly metered usage-based model, I found myself constantly worrying about my monthly quota. Unfortunately, the cost became unsustainable for me, forcing me to switch to Claude Code.
Here is my comparison and why I made this decision:

Quota Anxiety vs. Time-Based Limits:
Claude Code operates with a 5-hour limit and weekly quotas. While these are limitations, they feel much more manageable. With Cursor, I constantly have to calculate my remaining monthly tokens with every prompt. This “usage anxiety” hinders the flow of development. -
Token Efficiency:
Even when paying the same amount, the actual volume of work (tokens consumed) I can achieve in a month feels significantly higher with Claude Code due to its flexible weekly/hourly structure compared to Cursor’s hard monthly cap. -
The “Vibe Coding” Experience:
I genuinely love Cursor. The smart “Vibe Coding,” the way the Agent strictly follows forced rules, and the overall speed and quality are unmatched. Seeing the Agent execute complex tasks was truly impressive.
The Verdict:
Despite Cursor’s superior speed and quality, the current fixed monthly pricing model combined with tight usage limits makes it financially unviable for me. Simply put, it has lost its price competitiveness compared to other emerging tools.
My Question to the Team:
Does Cursor plan to maintain this current pricing structure indefinitely? Or are there any plans to introduce more flexible options—similar to competitors—such as time-based limits or weekly quotas that alleviate the pressure of a hard monthly cap?
It is with great regret that I have to leave Cursor for now, as I simply cannot justify the cost under the current policy. I hope to return if the pricing becomes more competitive.
