Windows: Failed to install Cursor update

Hey, sorry about that! This is an issue we’re tracking. The in-app updater stalls when something on the machine is holding Cursor’s install folder open, so the quickest route is to sidestep it:

  1. Fully quit Cursor (and close VS Code if you have it open), then end any leftover Cursor, inno_updater, or Node.js JavaScript Runtime processes in Task Manager.
  2. Reboot.
  3. Before reopening Cursor, install the latest from Cursor · Download - installing over the top keeps your settings and chats.

If it still won’t update after that, paste the last ~30 lines of the newest cursor-inno-updater-*.log from your %TEMP% folder and I’ll pin down what’s blocking it.
