I see people say claude-3-5-sonnet is Claude-3-5-sonnet-20241022 but the two of them behave completely differently when I switch??

Hey, the date-bound version was at one point newer than the normal sonnet model, but I believe that has changed now. We can probably remove the Claude-3-5-sonnet-20241022 from the list, thanks for the report!
So, the claude sonnet 3.5 without date is the most newest and latest update that sonnet has right now? @danperks

The model identifier you’re seeing is actually a bit misleading - Claude will sometimes show dates that aren’t accurate since it doesn’t actually know its own version. The regular Claude 3.5 Sonnet (without the date) is indeed the latest version we’re using
this version of claude was not good at all, even though it was first introduced as an updated version. claude 3.5 sonnet version handles bugs and code editing better. the new model described as new did not perform well. this is my observation.
I think it was a good decision to remove it.
