A desk display that shows your Cursor usage (plan, auto and API) at a glance

Hi all,

I built a small open-source desk display that keeps AI usage limits visible while I work, and it supports Cursor: it shows your plan, auto and API usage as rings or bars, and you can switch to other tools like Claude or GitHub Copilot if you use them too.

  • Hardware: an inexpensive ESP32 “Cheap Yellow Display” with a 2.8" screen, no soldering
  • Data: a companion app on macOS (Windows as a beta) reads the limits locally through the open-source CodexBar CLI and sends them to the display over USB. The display holds no credentials.
  • Setup: install CodexBar, install the app, plug in the display. The app flashes the firmware itself.

Curious whether other Cursor users would find the auto and API rows useful, or what else you’d want on the screen.
