Cursor UI is broken

the whole UI gets “stuck” for one seconds every few seconds (every 10 to 20 seconds, constantly). I will try to do anything, changing a file, typing on the chat, scrolling, opening a file, anything. The UI freezes for one or two seconds after which it updates. The keystrokes were detected so whatever was done (e.g. typing) happens all at once suddenly after said time

It is extremely annoying, it must be fixed quickly

I have tried running with all extensions disable and does not change anything

This happens whether I am running a chat or not, doesn’t make a difference

Have you tried deleting all your old chats? This seems to fix a lot of performance issues.

I have this issue as well.

It seems to get worse over time.

When I restart my PC, it starts working well again initially.

I don’t want to delete all my old chats, because I need them.

How can we do this? Is it just the tabs - or is there another way?

My performance has been terrible lately - is there a way to disable tabs? Manually closing them is a little annoying.

I’d love to make use of multiple tabs - but my system can’t handle it (32gb of ram lol)

I hate the tabs too. On MacOS it’s hold down the Option key when opening a new chat to replace the current chat, not open a new tab. Not sure what the keybind is for Linux.

To delete chats, click on the “Show Chat History” button:

Then when hovering over a chat, you can delete it:

Every now and then I go through and delete everything older than 2 weeks old.
