I found out that since the last update on Grok Bot (for Mac), the agents “labels / chips” disappeared: I can only set its name, instruction, voice options.
But no label anymore. And, those are not showing on the side bar neither.
This feature is still available on my account and Grok Bot app on iOS.
This one is intentional rather than something going wrong on your end. In the latest Grok Bot desktop update (0.57) the team removed the label field and the label chips from the desktop app while they rethink how bots should be described in the sidebar. The iOS app has not made that change yet, which is why you still see labels there.
Nothing has been deleted: the labels you already set are still stored with your bots, and the iOS app can still show and edit them.
I have passed your feedback along to the team. If you can share a bit about how you were using the labels (for example to tell similar bots apart in the sidebar), that helps them decide what comes next!
It sees like I’ve been moved to another A/B test group: my labels are back! (which I like).
My current configuration for my agents is:
Master bot (CoS)
Leads
Specialists
Master communicates mostly with Leads. Leads communicate with Specialists.
I give them some names such as Pulse, Forge, Rank, etc. (just personal choices), but with over 15 bots, it’s sometimes difficult to remember what the specialist is doing (Personal Ops, Growth, Engineering, etc.).
So, I use those labels to categorize bots and what they are doing.
Plus, I can ask a lead to communicate with a bot not by the category (specialists) but by the labels themselves. (E.g.: check with Personal ops bots and then do this or that).
I consider labels for my bot as their job title.
I hope this will be preserved.
I second this, and use the labels in the same way. They are immensely helpful to remember which bot does what task so I can keep their actual names short and fun rather than clunky and descriptive.
I appreciate that they’re back now and hope that they’re here to stay.
