Grok Bot: show which device a message came from, and where the app is installed

Feature request for product/service

Chat

Describe the request

Two related gaps. One post.

  1. Device origin on user messages
User messages should show which machine they came from (Mac vs iPhone vs other). Right now they don’t. I sent four messages in a row labeled Phone, MacBook Pro, Phone, MacBook Pro. There is no originating-device field on any of them. They look identical. A bot still cannot tell phone from MacBook.

  2. Device, not IP
I want device, not IP. IP is privacy. Device is safety. Do not collect IP addresses for this.

  3. Human vs bot
A device label (or a “bot/MCP” tag) should also distinguish me typing on iPhone or MacBook from a connector posting as me. Example: Slack sending as my user. Without that, “I said it” is indistinguishable from a bot post.

  4. Chat device vs command computer
When I type on one machine (phone, or another Mac), local commands can still hit a different connected computer, with no allow card on the device I am typing on. Commands must show which local computer they will hit. The allow card must appear on the device I am typing on.

  5. Install inventory
I should be able to see where Grok Bot apps are installed on my account. There is no device roster today. I have a MacBook Pro and an iPhone 16 Pro.

Early beta. Grok Bot.

Operating System (if it applies)
