Agent not calling edit_file tool, instead generating custom terminal commands for file editing

Describe the Bug

The AI agent is expected to use the edit_file tool for modifying files.
However, instead of invoking the tool, it generates custom terminal commands to edit files manually. This makes it so that I cant review the changes it makes and approve them.

Steps to Reproduce

Prompt the agent to edit an existing file.

Observe the agent’s response.

Notice that the agent generates custom shell commands (e.g., sed, echo > filename) instead of calling the edit_file tool.
