Agent window: Opening GitHub PR links in sidebar should be opt-in

The Agent Window seems to have been updated to ALWAYS open GitHub PR links in the sidebar/git interface within the Agent Window. This is a very intrusive change (since when do I want to open your sidebar, when I click an https-link pointing to GitHub?) and it should absolutely be opt-in.

There seems to be no way to disable this behavior and the only way I can open such links in my browser is by copy/pasting them. There isn’t even a button to open the PR in the browser from the sidebar - you have to click twice from the sidebar to copy the URL to the GitHub PR.

Please consider changing this to an opt-in feature or at the very least add a toggle to disable the behavior.

Hey @Malte_Nissen

Thanks for the feedback. Want to call out that you can Ctrl+Click on the URL to get a menu to open it in an external browser.

Annoying to have to do every time, but might help a little!

Hey @Colin

Thank you for your reply. I don’t get this context menu when clicking the link in combination with any modifiers. Do you know if there’s a setting somewhere to enable this behavior? I have checked that I’m on the latest release. Notice that the link opens up in my external browser when I open the agent conversation in the regular sidebar in Cursor. The problem only appears in the Agents Window.

Notice that the context menu shows up when I right-click the link in the regular sidebar.

@Malte_Nissen Could you share a screenshot of the link you’re clicking?

Hi @colin,

A note which perhaps makes this feedback invalid: I just found out it opens in my regular browser when I click my mouse wheel (mapped to middle click).

Anyhow, the link looks like this:
