AI File / Code Sharing Issue

AI can’t read files, or see codes I paste and keep asking me to paste between some lines, and when I do that it keeps asking me again and again.

This was actually a bug that we fixed in a recent update! If you’re still seeing this behavior, could you share a screenshot? That way I can check if it’s the same issue or something different

For sharing code with AI, the easiest ways are:

  • Use @ to reference files/code
  • Select code and hit Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+L to add to chat
  • The AI can always see your current file by default

I get tired of this issue because that wasted my 14 day trial period. Unfortunately that trial period became a nightmare for me. Like a trial of my patience…

I understand the frustration with the trial period not working as expected.

You can still test out Cursor with our free tier which includes most core features, or if you want to try the Pro features again you can sign up for a single month to properly evaluate everything. The file sharing issues have been fixed now, so you should have a much better experience
