AI is not working following kaspersky virus hiccup

Hi all,

I was test building / running a C# applicaiton, when kaspersky decided to throw a wobbly and tell me that cursor.exe was a virus…. it subsequently removed cursor.exe. Looking online it seems to be a known potential problem and a ‘false red flag’.

I have since reinstalled cursor , and added it to the safe applications…

However, now when I load up cursor, if I try to talk to the AI, I just get failed connection attempts… it tells me im not connected to the internet or behind a VPN. I have internet and certainly not using a vpn!….

Has anyone experienced similar or got any advice on how to get it working again?

I have since tried a full uninstall and reinstall…. and also tried pausing kaspersky protections… but since this happened, nothing is allowing me to connect to the AI interface now???

Hey, it’s possible your antivirus is also blocking incoming/outgoing connections. Could you try adding these addresses to the allowlist:

Hey, as luck has it I found “exit” on kaspersky rather than just pause protection…

As luck has it AI started working again.

ALSO something that started working was the application (the one I am making) inability to connect to a remote email server via SSL… I’ve been trying to debug this for days and figure out why it has been refusing to connect….. turns out it’s been the kaspersky total proteciton silently killing it and not leaving any logs for me to see!….

FML…. think I might just stick to windows own antivirus from now on and be done with the third party rubbish…
