hi @Oli_Morris_Eliel and welcome to Cursor Forum.

From your screenshot it is visible that something is indeed interfering with the connection to Cursor as the SSL certificate has been modified by a Cisco networking product that sits between your Cursor and our servers.

While we do not see where or what it would be, it is likely that either a company or your internet provider does intercept network traffic through a proxy. Alternatively you may have some software installed on your computer or from an VScode extension that uses a different SSL certificate than what we provide.

Try following and Run Diagnostic again.

  • Use Cursor without Extensions: start cursor --disable-extensions to check if any extension you installed interferes with the SSL certificate
  • Try to use your computer on a different internet connection which is not the same as your company or regular internet provider.
  • Check if your firewall or antivirus software interferes. Additionally run your antivirus to ensure there is no malicious software interfering.

Sorry where do I start “cursor –disable-extensions”?

Additionally, I’m not using company internet connection, this is just my home ISP. I also don’t think I have any firewall or antivirus installed. How can I check this? I won’t have anything different installed by my company as other people and their Cursor is working fine

I just checked and I’m not running any extensions

You can start cursor –disable-extensions in the built in terminal.

  • Press Cmd + Space to open Spotlight search
  • Type “Terminal” and press Enter
  • Or go to Applications → Utilities → Terminal

Then paste the above line into terminal and press enter. It will start Cursor without extensions.

From your screenshot there is an interference by Cisco, I suggest talking to your company about this if this is your work computer as you may not be aware of some settings on the device.

As there are several different firewalls and antivirus software available for Mac it depends how those are configured. Many such applications may be visible as icons in the top menu bar on the right side.

It is not directly possible for us to see into your device and what occurs there, which is why we have added the network diagnostics tool to provide information for the device owner or those responsible for management of company computers.

I understand but I have exactly the same things installed as everyone else at my company and it’s only mine which isn’t working.

Yes I would then also assume that all is the same. Still there is proof of the SSL certificate change from network diagnostics so your team may need to assist you with this specific detail.
