All my Rules disappeared after update

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

All my rules disappeared after the update to the latest version. All the rules! And I had plenty. And I don’t know where they are. Where are all my rules? I’m not going to be able to rewrite them now. I don’t remember them. This is extremely irresponsible.

Steps to Reproduce

Renew and update cursor and open it. Go to settings, rules and memories and look at your user rules. You gonna see no user rules yet.

Expected Behavior

I expect the program not to delete the data from the app when it updates. It’s a very basic expectation from even the most stupid apps and programs that you can ever find in this world.

Additional Information

Such a stupid thing from such a serious company like you. Can I trust you? Will it happen in the future all the time or is it just once? This is the mistake that can be made by a developer that just started working yesterday. What’s wrong with you guys? Hiring juniors?

Hey, since user rules are stored in the cloud, they should load in Cursor. Make sure your internet connection is stable. If you’re using a VPN, try turning it off, if you’re not using one, try enabling it. If you have a firewall, try disabling it as well. Also, run a network diagnostic in Cursor settings.

Everything is alright with my network. I did run your diagnostics. And what do you think I got? Green checks everywhere!!! But when I go to the rules setting, I see nothing!!! Can you please give me a direct link to that cloud so I can download my rules?

That’s the worst possible thing that you guys can do is to lose the data of your users.

Unfortunately, there is no direct access to the cloud. Try the following: log out of your account in Cursor and log back in. Also, try opening a blank Cursor window instead of your project. Go to settings and check if your rules have loaded. If they haven’t, open the DevTools panel to detect any errors.
