Cursor Deleted My Global Rules

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

The latest Cursor includes User and Project Rules.

I am very disappointed to see that my existing (lengthy) rules I had in cursor settings has now been deleted and there is no way to recover it. Ridiculous if this was intended.

Please someone let me know if this wasn’t intended?

Steps to Reproduce

Rules are no longer in settings.

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. Your user rules are stored in the cloud and should appear in Settings automatically. However, if they still don’t show up there, try rolling back to the previous version. This might bring them back so you can copy and save them.

As for project rules, they’re all stored in the .cursor/rules folder of your project. If you haven’t changed anything and didn’t delete them, they should still be there.
