Alternative authentication methods for strict VPN/firewall environments - API key or offline login?

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an authentication issue with Cursor in my corporate environment. Our company has very strict VPN policies and firewall restrictions that prevent me from logging into my Cursor account through the standard web-based authentication flow.

Current situation:

  • Cannot access the standard login page due to network restrictions
  • VPN blocks most external authentication protocols
  • Standard OAuth flow fails consistently

What I’m looking for:

  • Alternative authentication methods (API key, token-based auth, etc.)
  • Offline login capabilities
  • Any workarounds for restrictive network environments
  • Enterprise/corporate authentication options

Has anyone encountered similar issues? Are there any planned features for API key authentication or offline account verification?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Environment:

  • Cursor version: [0.50]
  • OS: [Debian]
