The Cursor IDE redirects me to some URL to sign in. Something like https://cursor.sh/loginDeepControl?challenge=<random string>&uuid=<random id>&mode=login
But apparently, https://cursor.sh/ has been down for days and I can’t log in. Please fix this urgently or provide an alternative way I can authenticate my account from the Cursor IDE.
Sorry about this. What do you see when you go to https://cursor.sh? A screenshot would be helpful. It would also be helpful to know what country you’re accessing it from, in case this is due to some firewall.
I think the problem is that the server on which their authentication site is hosted is far from us and It is most likely going to be in the US. So the best thing to do is to connect to a VPN and pick United States as I did, It worked almost immediately
To start, unless there’s a data protection or legal reason I’m unaware of, it’s highly unlikely Cursor is disallowing Nigerian connections to access the site.
Cursor is known to have issues with corporate firewalls and VPNs, and it’s possible Nigeria has some firewall-style rules that are causing connections to Cursor to fail.
Can anyone confirm if, after logging in on a VPN, Cursor works as it should off the VPN? This will track down if it’s just the logging in that has issues, or the whole of Cursor.
