Apply Edit Model doesn't work on Long context file (4517lines).(MacOS, 0.49.5)

It is hard for Agent(auto or claude3.7) to edit long python file(4517 lines). Apply Model never succeeded recently. It works in 2 or 3 versions before in my memory.

I would use Cursor of course. It is my daily companion now. I love it.

Ok, I solved the problem. The conclusion is as below.

  1. It is due to the context window for Claude 3.5, 3.7 and auto, I guess.
  2. The long context(large files) edit apply model works very well when I selected gemini-2.5-pro-exp-03-25. Same large files (>4100 lines), it handles applying edit smoothly. At least, no error cycle.

  3. o3, gpt-4.1, and deepseek-R1 are not tested so far.

I guess it is due to the cost or bargain contract between cursor and anthropic. Please provide premium service tier(40$?) for longer context window, or I have to move to gemini or other models from claude.
