grok-bot-default is listed under Cursor Models. Does that mean it consumes the Cursor Models monthly quota, or is it only a display grouping while Grok Bot still has its own weekly pool?
Hey, good question. Grok Bot usage is separate from your Cursor quota. On Pro, Grok Bot has its own weekly allowance, and the Cursor Models monthly quota is only used by what you do inside the Cursor app. So the percentage you see at the top of Cursor Models is only your Cursor usage, Grok Bot doesn’t take anything from it.
The grok-bot-default line under Cursor Models is a known display issue we’re tracking. The per-model breakdown in Included Usage doesn’t filter out Grok Bot from the per-model rows yet, so it shows up there and looks like it’s taking part of the percentage at the top. This doesn’t affect what you’re actually billed, and it doesn’t affect your remaining Cursor quota. You don’t need to do anything on your account.
A couple helpful things to know:
- If Grok Bot’s weekly allowance hits 100%, further Grok Bot usage may switch to on-demand if it’s enabled. To prevent that, you can set the on-demand limit to $0.
- Cloud agents launched by Grok Bot are billed as Cursor usage, because they run in Cursor.
Let me know if anything’s still unclear.
@deanrie I can understand what you’re saying that it was a display error and he didn’t actually use up my cursor quota. However, this completely disrupted my usage plan, resulting in my account running out of balance just 11 days before the next reset. I can’t tell anymore. I have to uninstall the bot and never use it again. This lesson is extremely painful.
I get that this feels frustrating. It’s hard to plan spending when the breakdown in the dashboard looks confusing.
A couple quick notes on how it works, so it’s clearer:
- Grok Bot uses its own separate weekly allowance. The Cursor Models monthly quota is only used by what you do inside Cursor itself. The
grok-bot-defaultrow under Cursor Models is a display grouping issue we’re tracking. It doesn’t affect your actual Cursor quota usage. - If Grok Bot hits 100% of its weekly allowance, further usage may go to on-demand, if it’s enabled. To prevent that, you can set the on-demand limit to (0). Then usage will stop at the limit and won’t keep going.
- Grok Bot and Cursor reset on different cycles. Grok Bot is weekly. Because of that, seeing something like 11 days until reset can be confusing.
If you want someone to check what was charged on your account and why your balance hit zero, email [email protected]. They can review your specific account details, which isn’t visible from the forum.

Yes, I hope you can do your best to fix it. It would be best to list the bot’s consumption separately and not mix it in with other items. Originally, it was reasonable for them to come from different software divisions. I will clear my name for you. Because I have exhausted all my available funds now, but it can still be confirmed that the bot has its own independent quota. But I have to add one more joke. Your auto credit limit has decreased significantly. I miss the days of unlimited credit. I used pro+ throughout and my total auto credit limit was approximately only 25 billion tokens.
Thanks for not dropping the thread. Your point about showing Grok Bot on a separate line makes sense, that’s exactly the kind of display improvement we’re tracking so Grok Bot and Cursor usage don’t look mixed together in Included Usage. I can’t share a timeline yet, but the direction is right, and I passed this along as feedback.
For your balance and the charge details for the current billing cycle, it’s best to email [email protected]. That team can check your account directly, which we can’t do from the forum.
If anything still doesn’t add up, let me know and we’ll take a look.
