It’s so terrifying! I just said why my credit limit was depleted so quickly. It turned out that the consumption of the Grok Bot was also included. They said it wouldn’t be counted as part of my charges.
I don’t quite understand. By the time this post was made, I had already stopped using the Grok Bot and suspended all of its tasks. Why is the usage of Grok-Bot-default constantly increasing?
Hi @z_l, thanks for the report, and sorry for the confusion here!
Grok Bot does not use your Cursor plan’s monthly allowance. Your Pro+ plan gives Grok Bot its own separate weekly allowance, and Grok Bot usage is metered against that, not against the Cursor Models or Other Models pools you see on the Spending page.
What you’re seeing is a display issue we’re already tracking: the per-model breakdown on that page doesn’t filter out Grok Bot yet, so the grok-bot-default / grok-bot-automation / grok-bot-cua rows show up inside the Cursor Models and Other Models lists and take a share of the percentages. The percentage in the header (Cursor Models 100%) only counts your Cursor usage. In your case, that comes from Auto and Grok 4.6 usage in the Cursor app over the last couple of weeks, which is what used up the monthly allowance, not Grok Bot.
Hope that clears it up! We’re tracking a fix for the usage breakdown – it’s definitely confusing.
At present, I’m no longer willing to use the Grok Bot. It’s too terrifying and completely disrupted my usage plan. I currently don’t have any more credits.
Moreover, I do not agree with your statement that my cursor quota was not used. The usage of Grok Bot was charged at 0% before, and since yesterday when I noticed something was wrong, the total token usage has stopped increasing because I haven’t used it. However, the proportion of my quota used by it has been continuously increasing. Please carefully review my account and compare the weekly usage of Grok Bot quota to identify the problem. Currently, I dare not use the bot anymore because of this. I admit that it is really useful, but it will disrupt my plan for using the cursor.
Are the bots spinning up agents that use the other models and thus use the Cursor quota? I saw my “Other models” usage go up when using Grok Bot, but I assume that was the tasks they were performing but I wasn’t in control of that.
Quick update on this: the display issue mentioned above has now been fixed on our side.
Grok Bot rows (grok-bot-default, grok-bot-automation, grok-bot-cua, and the models Grok Bot calls as part of its work) will no longer appear in the Cursor Models and Other Models breakdowns on the Spending page.
This also explains what you saw in your later screenshots. Those rows were displayed as a share of the bar, so their percentage moved as your other Cursor usage changed, even while Grok Bot itself was idle. Normal Grok Bot usage is metered against its own separate weekly allowance, not your Cursor plan, and that was the case the whole time; only the breakdown was showing it in the wrong place.
Could you take another look at the Spending page in a day or so and let me know if any Grok Bot rows are still showing up there?
But I still have a small suggestion to make. Could we also, in the [Billing & Invoices] section, list the consumption details of the BOT separately, just like we do for [Spending]?
Now you can rest assured. It was indeed a display error before. My pro+ service lost its credit limit last week, but this did not affect my bot usage. And now they have removed the display of bot usage.
