Are limits for GPT-5 during launch week different across subscription tiers like Pro, Pro+ and Ultra? There’s a lot of discussions around limiting abuse and transparency about limits, but overall there don’t seem to be very clear answers from Cursor on any of this.
I am currently on the Pro plan, and was cut off from the GPT-5 launch week promo once I hit $200 in API usage. I certainly would have been more strategic in using GPT-5 if I had an idea of what the limits were (rather than using high or fast modes, for example). Someone in another discussion made a really good analogy about an all-you-can-eat buffet where the restaurant steps in and says you’ve eaten too much in the middle of your meal. Advertising “unlimited” is very different than capped when you can reach the limit very quickly. I wasn’t trying to abuse any system here, but it seemed like a good opportunity to try some things that would have been too expensive otherwise.
Anyway, I’m not posting to complain, but I am wondering whether I can upgrade to the Pro+ or Ultra plan and increase my GPT-5 launch week cap. I would use this more conservatively, but it would encourage me to sign up for Pro+ again or consider Ultra if I knew what the limits were.
