Aren't you tired of breaking the UI and UX in a working tool?

Why do you keep introducing chaos and inconvenience for users?

Why did you remove the Codex tab from the right panel in yet another update? What was it hurting?

Do you think that by making Codex significantly harder to use inside your product, I’ll start paying you more? No. I’m increasingly thinking about just leaving for Codex entirely.

What’s wrong with the setup where I pay both you and Codex? What exactly bothers you about that?

Do you understand these are work tools? That people work inside them, building processes and workflows for maximum efficiency? Why break that?

What are your motives? I open an IDE to work — not to get surprises with every update. Bad surprises.

Once again I have to waste time reconfiguring the IDE, digging through hacks and workarounds — figuring out how to get around your decisions so I can work comfortably and efficiently again.

Honestly, I’m tired of this. I spend a huge amount of time on it.

This feels like sabotage on your part, not an improvement.

On the issue:

  • Broken: Cursor 3.15.6, macOS
  • Worked: Cursor 3.14.27
  • Extension: openai.chatgpt v26.721.30844

What broke:

  • Codex tab disappeared from the right panel (secondary sidebar)
  • Codex: Open Codex Sidebar — does not open the panel
  • Codex: New Codex Agent — only opens a new chat in an editor tab; not the full Codex with history and threads
  • View: Reset View Locations — does not help

Only working workaround: rollback to 3.14.27 + hotkey Cmd+Alt+Cchatgpt.openSidebar.

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Yes - Cursor is unusable
  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue

The more details you provide, the easier it is for us to reproduce and fix the issue. Thanks!

Extremely irritating. Downgraded so far, but clearly some actions are needed to prevent this from happening again. I guess my personal TODO is to try analyzing is that was done intentionally.

So, it is intentional. /Applications/Cursor.app/Contents/Resources/app/out/nls.messages.json has:

View containers cannot be contributed to the Secondary Side Bar in Cursor. It is reserved for Cursor's agent UI. Contribute to 'activitybar' or 'panel' instead.
